Constitutional and governance instruments

The Majagi — TIBNLA Constitution Act 2022, dated 22 May 2022 and prepared by the Elder Council under the Original Lore/Law of the Land, sets out the Preamble, Basic Principles of the Nation, Civil and Human Liberties, the National Home of the Tiwi, Brinkin and Larrakia People, the Mayaar of the Nation, the Lore/lawful Authority, the Executive Authority, the Judiciary, and the Nation Comptroller.

The accompanying TIBNLA Private Members Articles of Association (May 2022) establishes the unincorporated association, its members, purpose, powers, and By-Lores — grounded in the first-in-time customary lore on Country and the custodial protection of land, air and water.

Allodial Land Use Registry recordings

Two recordings issued by the Allodial Land Use Registry on 12 June 2024 in favour of TIBNLA Nation are also published:

  • Recording TIB0002 — Allodial Land & Maritime Use Permit over the Tiwi Islands (833,549.5 hectares)
  • Recording TIB0003 — Allodial Land & Maritime Use Permit over the 200 nautical mile sea boundary of TIBNLA Nation (5,467,535 hectares, approx. 18,956 square nautical miles), excluding the Tiwi Islands land mass.
